In countries affected by conflict and war, Women for Women International (WfWI) supports the most marginalized women to earn and save money, improve health and well-being, influence decisions in their home and community and connect to networks for support. Since 1993, Women for Women International (WfWI) has helped over 500,000 marginalized women in countries affected by war and conflict. We directly work with women in eight countries, offering support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and poverty to stability and economic self-sufficiency.
WfWI is seeking a Regional Communications Coordinator. A key focus for our 2020-2030 global strategic plan is to increase the capacity within Women for Women International Country Offices for communications work, to support the global organization and in-country strategies. This is a new one-year pilot role, to help us achieve the following ambitions:
The Regional Communications Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Communications and External Engagement, HQ (Washington, DC). This role works closely with the global communications team and country offices to create and collect compelling content including photos, videos and stories for the organization. The Regional Communiactions Coordinator is responsible for leading the implementation of global communications strategies and campaigns in the countries where we work.
The ideal candidate has previous experience in storytelling and is comfortable diving into fast-moving campaigns and communications plans. As a key member of the global communications team, this candidate will work with country office staff on storytelling and message trainings.
This position requires up to 40% travel to our offices in Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Sudan. The position is based in Africa with flexibility on exact location.
