Women for Women International (WfWI) is seeking a Marketing Officer. 


Since 1993,Women for Women International, a globalNGO,has invested in the power of over 500,000 women who are forgotten  the women survivors of war and conflict.We support them in learning the social and economicskills they need to rebuild theirlives, theirfamilies, and their communities. 

 

Our core belief is that stronger women build stronger nations. Women who enrol in our programs in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Sudan, break the isolation of war and conflict. They gain access to knowledge, resources and tools needed to earn and save money, improve health and well-being, influence decisions in their home and community, and connect to networks for support.

The Marketing Officer coordinates all fundraising and communication efforts for Women for Women International’s recurring giving programs. As part of the Marketing team, this position works to recruit and retain recurring donors through an integrated multi-channel approach using direct mail, email, web, advertising, and mobile. This key position will work closely with other members of the Marketing team and the Director of Donor Relations to grow revenue for the organization’s recurring giving programs and ensure donors are receiving optimal content. Women for Women International’s recurring giving programs currently include the Sponsorship and Monthly Giving programs. In combination, these programs are areas of strategic fundraising growth for the Marketing department. This position plays a key role in helping build and grow these programs.


Recurring Giving Program Strategy & Management


  • Work with Directors of Marketing and Donor Relations on revenue and expense planning, budgeting, and reforecasting efforts pertaining to the Sponsorship and Monthly Giving Programs.
  • Work with the Director of Donor Relations to develop new long-term strategies for building and improving the Sponsorship programs.
  • Work with the Donor Services team to monitor monthly recurring giving payment processing and ensure systems are optimized to support donor retention and donor recruitment.
  • Work closely with members of the Marketing team to develop and ensure close coordination with other ongoing Marketing outreach efforts, including direct mail, web, digital advertising, email, and social media marketing.
  • Regularly monitor and track all recurring giving program expenses.


Recurring Giving Content Development & Execution

  • Implement and execute strategies to acquire new sponsors and monthly donors.
    • Work with 3rd party direct mail agency to develop and execute new donor recruitment mailings.
    • Work with Digital Marketing team and 3rd party vendors to implement strategies to acquire new recurring donors through digital channels including email, web, advertising, and social media.
  • In coordination with the digital marketing team, design, build and schedule emails.


Recurring Giving Program Strategy & Management

  • Develop and coordinate recurring giving digital communication and outreach strategy.
  • Monitor and coordinate work of outside vendors as it relates to the recurring giving programs.
  • Regularly monitor and report to internal teams on the acquisition and retention performance of recurring giving efforts.
  • Monitor the timing and impact of other fundraising efforts on the retention and growth of recurring donors.
  • Manage and update ongoing recurring giving communication calendar
  • Conduct all data and reporting needs related to recurring giving outreach and communication efforts:
  • Direct mail list generation
  • Digital audience segmentation and definition
  • Sponsorship specific program tracking reports
  • Other reporting as needed


Recurring Giving Content Development & Execution

  • Maintain and improve Sponsorship supporter journey “Pillar” mailings. This includes updating direct mail copy and creative, maintaining monthly mailing schedules and coordinating with 3rd party vendor to maintain mailing and delivery schedule of materials.
  • Build and maintain digital donor journeys for recurring donors through email, social media, and web.
  • Craft and write copy to be used in email, social media, and advertising outreach efforts.
  • Build and maintain online recurring giving donation pages.
  • Maintain and update recurring giving content for the WfWI website.
  • Update and develop recurring giving content for the online donor portal website

Skills and Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant marketing field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 3-4 years of experience with direct response marketing programs, preferably recurring giving programs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with digital marketing or fundraising work
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and goals, problem-solve, and prioritize among assignments
  • Self-motivated and goal/deadline oriented
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Strong editorial and proofreading skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Familiarity with email management software, preferably Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Demonstrated creativity and flexibility
  • Flexibility working across different global time zones


Preferred

  • Experience with direct mail
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics or other reporting platforms
  • Knowledge of Photoshop
  • Previous administrative and project management experience
  • Dedication to the mission and vision of Women for Women International

 

Physical Demands:

  • May require bending, lifting, standing, sitting, computer work, etc.
