Since 1993, Women for Women International has helped over 495,000 marginalized women in countries affected by war and conflict. We serve women in 8 countries offering support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and poverty to stability and economic self-sufficiency.
We bring women together in a safe space to learn life, business, and vocational skills. Once enrolled, each receives a monthly stipend – a vital support that enables her to participate.
Women increase their ability to earn an income with new skills that are in-demand. They learn about their legal rights, and they become knowledgeable about health and nutrition. The result: stronger women, stronger families, and stronger communities. This ripple effect is profound.
The Summer 2019 External Events Intern will assist the External Events team with external engagement activities that strengthen the work and visibility of Women for Women International. The External Events intern will support the team by assisting with weekly gift-processing tasks, providing research on donors, influencers, and speaking opportunities, evaluating new market opportunities, and providing logistical support for revenue and non-revenue events as needed.
The External Events intern will have the opportunity to conduct a research project that addresses a key issue challenging the team. The intern will contribute to specific projects under the supervision of the External Events Officer. The internship will require 16-24 hours per week commitment with an anticipated start date of May 28th, 2019 and possible End Date: August 16th, 2019; a $195 monthly stipend will be provided.
